As you know, from August 18 to September 2, Indonesia hosted the 18th Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang.
The tournament left a new page in the history of Uzbek sports. During the Asian Games, our compatriots won 21 gold, 24 silver and 25 bronze medals and 70 gold medals, respectively.

Today, on September 21 in the building of the National Olympic Committee held an awards ceremony for our athletes, who won the Asian Games. It was attended by Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov, Presidential Advisor Abdujabbor Abduvohidov, Deputy Prime Minister Tanzila Narbaeva, National Olympic Committee and Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports, officials of the Tashkent city administration. .

The event was opened by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Speaking at the event, Abdullah Nigmatovich said that the conditions and opportunities created by the head of our state at the Asian Games in the past have been successful. It was also noted that yesterday the President of the country held a meeting on the development of sports, popularization of the sport and set appropriate instructions. He also said that the country is always proud of the athletes and wished them success in the next competitions.

The presidential advisor on youth, science, education, health and sports Abdujabbor Abduvohidov read the presidential decree on awarding the winners and prize winners of the XVIII Asian Games. According to the report, the Asian Games gold medal winners are 5000, silver medalists are 3000, and bronze medalists are awarded $ 2,000.

During the event it was noted that in the nearest future our prize-winning trainers will also be awarded awards (gold – 2,500, silver – 1500, bronze – 1000).

At the end of the ceremony, the Prime Minister said that he would be a fan of our athletes at the 2020 Olympic Games and look forward to such successful participation. He said that Uzbekistan is going to host major sports competitions and Asian Games in the future.
